Our Chief Purpose and Mission

At Green Minds Building, our chief purpose is simple but powerful: To assist in the creation of better living spaces and conditions. We achieve this every day through precise insulation and expert air-sealing work. Every home, multi-family building, and commercial space we touch is treated as an opportunity to improve comfort, health, and energy efficiency.

This purpose guides every decision we make, from planning and diagnostics to installation and follow-up. We focus on tangible results: spaces that feel comfortable year-round, reduce energy waste, and provide safer, healthier living and working conditions.

We understand that homeowners and builders want to live and build sustainably, but are often limited by existing structures or budgets. Using a science-based approach, including home energy audits, thermal imaging, and energy modeling; we identify cost-effective upgrades that deliver real impact.

In alignment with Ottawa’s 2030 net-zero construction goals, we combine building science with practical solutions to make energy-efficient living accessible, effective, and achievable project at a time.

Many older homes in Ottawa struggle with outdated insulation and poor air sealing often due to older building codes. Homeowners want to improve comfort and energy efficiency, but upgrades can feel daunting without major disruptions.

At Green Minds Building, we start by diagnosing the issues with precision using energy audits, thermal imaging, and other proven tools. From there, we create a strategic plan and implement solutions that are data-driven, cost-effective, and minimally invasive, improving comfort, efficiency, and the overall quality of the living space.

  • "Were the second owners of a home built in 2004 by ******* Homes. The front portion of the house had always been cold. We had occasion to have Green Minds Building inspect the attic for insulation and what they found was shocking. Olivier took pictures that showed there were areas in the front portion of the house that contained no insulation at all. Additionally, the area above the front door had not been closed off in the attic, nor was the attached garage ceiling (done by the builder), insulated. None! We contracted Green Minds Building to remove any insulation that did exist in the remainder of the attic, properly seal the attic and re-insulate. We now have R60 of cellulose insulation in the attic and garage! We noticed the difference immediately. It was a long process but we know have peace of mind that the attic is insulated properly and professionally. We wholeheartedly recommend Green Minds Building.
